Who We Are

Finding Your Future is a career and educational consulting company, founded in 2000 by Mari Jo Parks. As a young company, we are excited to work with the people of Alaska in strengthening their futures.

Mari Jo Parks has become a highly sought after presenter for high schools, businesses and conferences. She has assisted clients from youth shelters, public assistance, local drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers and other individuals in their transition into their new lives.

Her work around the state as an expert in work related issues, advocacy for those in need, educational resources and community organizations has earned her respect as a community leader.

Mari Jo has authored numerous articles, the World of Work curriculum used at local high schools and a day planner designed to meet the needs of both high school students and individuals on public assistance.

Her expertise includes the ability to connect with clients, assess their situation and needs, and tailor her services to each individual. Her knowledge of training and educational opportunities are exceptional.

Prior to opening her business, Mari Jo taught in the Mat-Su Valley for 22 years, retiring in 1999. She was instrumental in developing model programs for job training and placement of students who experienced a disability and at-risk students in both the school and community. She worked with local businesses to train students and developed student run businesses.

Mari Jo is actively involved in the community. She currently serves on the Alaska State Fair Board, is the coordinator of the community-wide Special Santa Program and volunteers with many other organizations. Together with her staff and volunteers, Mari Jo hosted the Women of Success Conference. The Conference provided educational opportunities, created a strong support network and acknowledged successful women leaders within the community.

Carmen Belleau joined Finding Your Future and became the Public Relations Director in 2002. She was raised in Anchorage and moved to the Valley in 1996. Carmen was involved heavily in 4-H in Alaska from 1986 to 1995. She received numerous local, state, and national awards in leadership, dog care and training and veterinary science. She devoted an average of 30 hours a week to mentoring underprivileged children in the 4-H program, building their self esteem and being a stable, positive role model in their lives.

In addition to being the Public Relations director, Carmen works in the capacity of grant research, advertising and planning initiatives for the company. She has worked individually with clients providing training in customer service, personal presentation and basic computer skills and enjoys assisting clients in becoming successful. Her ability to create promotional material and communicate the mission and activities of the business has been a wonderful addition to Finding Your Future.
